Aboboreira
A mountain range of gentle slopes that stands out for being the nesting spot for many species. Our tour will take you on trails and paths that will lead us through the highlands punctuated by granite outcrops, megalithic remains, bushes, pastures, oak woods and small villages that are still managed in the traditional way.
In Aboboreira, the nesting season is brimming with life, since it makes the perfect place for many species of birds of prey and passerines, having little human presence, plenty of cattle, traditional agriculture and native vegetation. Migration season can also bring lots of surprises because there are many birds that choose this place to rest during their journey. March through May and September through October are the best time of the year to birdwatch in Aboboreira mountains.
