Birds and other fauna
Due to the fact that it is located in a transition zone between Africa and Northern Europe, right on the migration route, Portugal is a privileged place from the point of view of birdwatchers.
Our routes cover a strip of land of about 200 km, which corresponds to the region north of the Douro River, and in this strip of territory it is possible to observe about 300 species of birds, including some endemic to the Iberian Peninsula, such as Iberian Grey Shrike, Iberian Green Woodpecker, Spotless Starling or Iberian Magpie.

Other fauna
In addition to birds, dozens of species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles also occur in the region. You can watch animal species such as the red fox, the wild boar, or possibly the most elusive gray wolf or the iberian wild goat, the snub-nosed viper, the iberian emerald lizard, or the gold striped salamander, among many others.
