Our tour will take you on trails and paths that will lead us through the highlands punctuated by granite outcrops, megalithic remains, bushes, pastures, oak woods and small villages that are still managed in the traditional way.<\/p><p>In Aboboreira, the nesting season is brimming with life, since it makes the perfect place for many species of birds of prey and passerines, having little human presence, plenty of cattle, traditional agriculture and native vegetation. Migration season can also bring lots of surprises because there are many birds that choose this place to rest during their journey. March through May and September through October are the best time of the year to birdwatch in Aboboreira mountains.<\/p><p class=\"western\"><b>Species:<\/b><\/p><p class=\"western\"><b>Resident<\/b>: Spotless starling, dartford warbler, red-legged partridge, cirl bunting, iberian grey shrike, zitting cisticola, rock bunting, sardinian warbler.<\/p><p class=\"western\"><b>Breeding:<\/b>: Montagu's harrier (including a few melanistic individuals), golden oriole, hobby, honey-buzzard, western bonelli's warbler, melodious warbler, quail, hoopoe, short-toed eagle, pallid swift, woodchat shrike, ortolan bunting, booted eagle.<\/p><p class=\"western\"><b>Migrating<\/b>: Wryneck.<\/p><p><strong>Site:<\/strong> Aboboreira is not among the highest mountains in the area, peaking just below 1000 m. Half slope areas show signs of human presence (lots of pasture and arable land mixed with oak woodlands). At the top you will find typical heathland and megalithic monuments that are over 5000 years old.<\/p><p><b>Best time to visit<\/b>: preferably Spring to end Summer.<\/p><p>To book or get more
